Abstract

|
Multiple colonic polyposis are interesting disease in Korea with not only the rare incidence, comparing with Western, but frequent cancerous change.
Also, multiple familial polypos is of colon is a rare inheritance disease which develops in young age and an equal sex incidence.
There is a marked tendency for these, polyps to undergo malignant degeneration while the patient is still relatively young. Bloody stool and frequent diarrhea are most common symptoms in young.
Proctosigmoidoscpy and barium enema study of X-ray are valuable in diagnosis.
We experienced 6 cases of multiple polyposis of colon, among which one case is familial polyposis, and one, a probable Gardner¢¥s syndrome during 17 years (1969-1976).
